Do you want me to pause recording, Todd? Or keep going?
Jane Lehr (she/hers)
01:07:15
This is beyond the 3 RRs (I forgot what that stands for) that tenure-line faculty have (12 units teaching; 3 RRs) vs. lecturers (15 units teaching per quarter)
Jane Lehr (she/hers)
01:12:30
I will be talking in more detail about the ways in which I can work with you on grant proposals later at 12:30pm
Ben Hawkins
01:12:53
the most effective grant writing workshop/activity I've ever participated in worked like this:- 5 person accountability cohorts- intensive goal setting and time management work to define writing goals over a year long period with fine (~weekly) granularity- daily writing assignment (30-60min) with weekly reporting and check in- peer support and evaluation
Jane Lehr (she/hers)
01:12:54
To summarize - anyway you want. Want a lit review? Want a collaborator? Want a brainstorming session? Want a letter of institutional support?
Jane Lehr (she/hers)
01:14:23
We will talk more about CSU affinity groups later, including the Agricultural Research Institute

I’m working for a granting organization right now. We reject people because too many applications came in from the same region and funding tier. Partnerships get preferential treatment. Also, poorly put together financials and a lack of support letters.

before we go on - other questions for Sue?
Ben Hawkins
02:56:50
CSUPERB is a great resource for $$. They're focused on "biotechnology" but that definition is VERY broad. So if your research covers anything related, highly suggest you check it out.

Jane Lehr (she/hers)
03:04:37

Jane Lehr (she/hers)
03:05:22
… I am really going to do it this time, Dianna!
Ben Hawkins
